I visited Manali when I was doing my college first year. I would rather call it as a SWITZERLAND OF INDIA. The landscape over there was breath taking. Manali is covered well-defined snow capped peaks, the Beas River with its clear water meanders through the town. The Beas rushes along its rocky course amid grassy meadows carpeted with wild flowers and wagtails hop along from stone to stone along the stream’s edge. On the other side are deodar and pine trees, tiny fields and fruit orchards. There are marvelous walks too, through dappled orchards and fairy-tale forests of deodar. Manali has spectacular views of snowcapped peaks and wooded slopes. Some of finest slopes located near Manali are Solang Valley, Rohtang Pass, Dhundi, Kothi, Gulaba, Marhi, and Patalsu. These peaks are considered among some of the best skiing slopes in the world. It is an excellent place for a holiday.
Talent is a gift that can be given, and it can be taken away. We have to appreciate that. Stories had always been told about male genies coming out of bottles, but they were usually fat, old men. Never had the genie been a gorgeous woman, but for Sidney Sheldon genies were just women’s. I love reading them. A Sidney Sheldon novel typically contains one or more of these ingredients: shockingly beautiful women, square-jawed heroes and fiendish villains; fame, fortune and villas and plutonium, diamonds and a touch of rape, sodomy, murder and suicide; mysterious accidents and mysterious disappearances; an heiress or two; skeletons in lavishly appointed closets; communists and lawyers; globe-trotting ambassadors, supermodels and very bad dogs; forced marriages and amnesia; naked ambition and nakedness in general; a great deal of vengeance. He writes his books so the reader can’t put them down. He constructs them so when the reader gets to the end of a chapter, he or she has to read just one more chapter. It’s the same technique of the old Saturday afternoon serial: leave the guy hanging on the edge of the cliff at the end of the chapter.
Today you can make your feet look even more beautiful with different types of anklets and toe rings. Toe rings are also getting popular among the fashion frenzy women these days. Toe ring is also a traditional Indian Jewellery. In India married women wear it as a symbol of their being married. However, modern India’s fashionable women wear toe rings no matter she is marries or not. There is no a symbolic meaning for wearing toe rings now a days . They are only regarded to be a new fashion jewerly. These days a large number of college going youth wear them as stylish and trendy accessories.
Most women in the country go to great lengths to deck themselves in jewelry from head to foot. The feet are indeed decorated in jewels that have been specially made to grace them. Gone are the days when pedicure and nail paint were the only things to make your feet look beautiful. Anklet in recent times has become a fashion statement in the West. Indian women preffered to wear anklets in silver, since wearing gold on one’s feet is taboo. But like western women, now a day’s even modern Indian woman prefers to wear the new fashionable anklets, which are made of charms, beads and pearls. And the recent fashion is wearing them in a single leg. The best part about these anklets is that you can wear them with both formal and casual clothes.

The exterior decorations of the Taj Mahal are among the finest to be found in Mughal architecture. The beauty of this splendid monument is such that it is beyond the scope of words. The thoughts that come into the mind while watching the Taj Mahal is not just its exceptional beauty, but the enormous love which was the motivation behind its construction. Emperor Shah Jahan got this monument constructed in the memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, with whom he fell in love at the first sight. Standing majestically on the banks of River Yamuna, the Taj Mahal is synonymous with love and romance. Every year thousands of tourists visit this place. Whether Taj Mahal symbolizes eternal love, an emperor’s power or a little of both, Shah Jahan deserves credit for turning the death of his wife into a symbol of eternal beauty. As English poet, Sir Edwin Arnold wrote, the Taj Mahal is “not a piece of architecture, as other buildings are, but the proud passions of an emperor’s love wrought in living stones.”
I am amazed by some of the things in life and more so these little details that make them stand out from the rest of the incessant things I know. Did you know that chocolate has the ability to kill dogs? Did you realize that we have so many ways to greet each other when eskimos have a hundreds of words to say snow and none for a hello? Did you know that the infamous master piece of Da Vinci, The Mona Lisa has no eyebrows? Of all the scientific and mathematical definitions, the word “set” has the most number of definition in the English language? The martial arts expert Bruce Lee was infamous for his moves. But did you know that he was so fast that they had to slow down the movie to see his moves? And my favourite is the wonder that your heart stops beating and you close your eyes immediately when you sneeze? So, be thankful if you ever live to tell your tale after you sneeze.
As a die hard fan of Harry Potter, I’m just as sad as everyone else, to say GOODBYE to my favorite boy wizard. After the excitement, the speculation, the wild theories and finally the book itself, I’m left in the aftermath of the best book series ever written. No more wild theories about Snape’s loyalties, no more crazy guesses about how it all ends, no more waking up at 4 AM to rush to the book store to grab a copy of the latest Harry Potter book and nothing more to look forward to.
Things have gotten quite dull right now. But looking back, this journey has been one of the best experiences of my life and I’m extremely glad that I didn’t miss a moment of it. If I had, I would have regretted it my entire life. So things are fine as I eagerly await J.K.Rowling’s next big master piece.
