JAVA

Filed under: General, my write up — admin @ 3:21 pm

Java is an object-oriented, Multi-threaded, platform neutral programming language developed by Sun Microsystems. It is designed to be a small, simple and portable across different platforms as well as operating systems. The popularity of java is due to its unique technology that is designed on the basis of three key elements. They are the usage of applets, powerful programming language constructs and a rich set of significant object classes. The java development environment has two parts; a java compiler and a java interpreter. The compiler generates byte code. (A set of instructions that resembles machine code but are not specific to any processor) instead of machine code and the interpreter executes the java program.

Features of JAVA:

*      Platform Independence

*      Object Oriented

*      Portable

*      Compiler/Interpreter Combo

*      Robust

*      Several dangerous features of C & C++ eliminated

*      Automatic Memory Management

*      Security

*      Dynamic Binding

*      Threading

*      Built-in Networking

E-Governance

Filed under: General, my write up — admin @ 3:08 pm

E-governance is the application of electronic means in:

(1) The interaction between government and citizens and government and businesses, as well as in

(2) Internal government operations to simplify and improve democratic, government and business aspects of Governance.

In simple terms Electronic Governance can be defined as giving Citizens the choice of Anytime, Anyhow, Anywhere (AAA) access to government information and services, thereby leveraging the State’s/Central Government , to attain a leading position in Information Technology. The strategic objective of e-governance is to support and simplify governance for all parties; government, citizens and businesses. In other words, in e-governance electronic means support and stimulate good governance. Therefore the objectives of e-governance are similar to the objectives of good governance. Good governance can be seen as an exercise of economic, political, and administrative authority to better manage affairs of a country at all levels. Governance offers a new way forward, helping improve government processes, connect citizens, and build interactions with and within a civil society.

Manners are for everyone

Filed under: General, my write up — Tags: — admin @ 10:11 am

Good manners are not considered important by many today. This is evident in the way we see people snap and answer rudely when we ask a question, slam the door in our face, or take something we did for granted. Yet, we know that in every situation, having good manners makes you a winner.

Having good manners helps us to relate to other people with consideration. When we greet someone or ask “How are you today?” we make them feel a little special by showing that we care. When we say “I’m sorry” or “Would you mind if I do this?” it shows that we are taking care to not hurt their feelings.

How you express yourself show the kind of person you are – rude or considerate, selfish or generous. Treating others the way you would like to be treated is the easiest rule to follow and encourages others to treat you in the same way. Even the most well mannered people in the world can occasionally say the wrong things or make mistakes but being kind, generous and considerate on a daily basis displays true manners of your upbringing.

Cryptography

Filed under: Trivia — Tags: , — admin @ 11:12 am

Practice of enciphering and deciphering of messages in a secret code in order to render them unintelligible to all but the intended receiver. Cryptography may also refer to the art of cryptanalysis, by which cryptographic codes are broken. Collectively, the science of secure and secret communications, involving both cryptography and cryptanalysis is known as cryptology. Cryptography is used in various forms and levels to enhance security in the Internet. The passwords we use online are encrypted for security purposes. Credit card companies use cryptography in safe guarding the numbers and highly confidential information. There are various types of cryptographic methods, the techniques which each contain a series of steps to convert information into cipher text and vice-versa.

Roasted Corn

Filed under: health — Tags: — admin @ 3:11 am

Corn is my favorite food and I try recipes from all around the world to improvise the taste and flavor. One such recipe is Sweet and Spicy Roasted Corn that has been my desired choice for quite some time. Instead of the usual boiling or roasting, try grilling those ears of sweet corn. It tastes really good and looks absolutely delectable with flecks of red pepper and this recipe requires much less butter than people normally would use for sweet corn.
The Ingredients required are 6 large ears of sweet corn in husks, 2 tbs butter, 4 garlic cloves minced, 1 tsp brown sugar, ¼ tsp crushed red pepper flakes, ¼ tsp chilli powder. The Method of preparation is as follows.
Carefully peel back corn husks to within 1 inch of the bottom portion. Remove the silken fibres and rewrap corn in husks and secure with kitchen string. Soak corn in cold water for an hour or so. Lightly coat the grill rack with olive oil before starting the grill. Grill the covered corn over a medium heat for 25 to 30 minutes or until tender, turning occasionally. Remove the string before serving. In a sauce pan, melt butter, add garlic, brown sugar, red pepper flakes and chilli powder. Pour over the grilled corn and serve hot.

Is juice good for kids ???

Filed under: health, my write up — admin @ 10:49 am

Large amounts of juice can give kids diarrhoea . Ideally,kids should dreink water . Having juice everyday can set children up for a lifetime of sweet tendencies. they dont need it. Juice should be ocassional or weekly health treat for kids . Ofcourse, getting them a small fresh juice is much better than a coke or a chocolate bar. But try to get kids into the habit of eating fruit in its natural form instead of drinking it .

Buy Insurance Smartly

Filed under: my write up — admin @ 9:52 am

There are,broadly,two types of life insurance plans:Term plans and Endownment plans. Term plans comprise pure insurance,while endownment plans also have an investment component,and insurance agents are likely to tell you only about the latter because these fetch them a much higher commision.

Financial advisors,on the other hand,suggest you for a term plan,because: a) mixins insurance with investment is fundamentally a bad idea since the objectives are different; and b) for the same cover, the premiums you pay for term insurance will be only a fraction of what you’d pay for endowment policies .

How best to purify drinking water

Filed under: health, my write up — admin @ 7:47 am

Make drinking water safe by filtering and then boiling . let a large vessel of water simmer for atleast 10 minutes, then shut off the stove, and let it cool, all the while keeping it covered.Just filteration, or chemical methods of sterilization, will not destroy all harmful germs, specially the viruses, so drinking boiled water is best . Many commercial domestic water purifiers are sold with the promise that they can remove all germs from the water and so you dont have to boil water anymore. But only good old boilking and simmering filtered water can really removeall deadly viruses and make drinking water perfectly safe.

No one wants to end up with chapped lips because they interfere with daily activities and often look dry, red and flaky. Truth about TRUST

Filed under: my write up — admin @ 3:09 am

Trust is the basic of all good relationships and absolutely essential in family, college and work life. For most of us trust does not come easily. Trust breaks down fear. When fear is removed, we are able to share our thoughts, ideas and feelings. When trust is broken, we feel betrayed. We become suspicious of those who let us down and think the worst of them. It becomes easy to with draw into ourselves and nurses our wounds quietly. To regain trust put yourselves in the other person’s shoes and try to see why they broke your trust.
